1. Bhangarh Fort, Rajasthan
Bhangarh, a deserted town in Rajasthan, was established in 1613 by King Madho Singh, son of great Mughal general, Man Singh of Amber. Bhangarh was abandoned soon after being built and supposedly after it was cursed by a magician. In ignorance Ajab Singh, the grandson of Madho Singh, raised the palace to such a height that the shadow reached the forbidden place. Hence the devastation of entire town of Bhangarh happened. Local villagers say that whenever a house is built there its roof collapses. People say that nobody returned who stayed there after dark. And the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) sign board put up there says, "Staying after sunset is strictly prohibited in this area." Bhangarh Fort is the famous place for paranormal activity as reported by the Times of India.
2. Brij Raj Bhavan Palace in Kota, Rajasthan
The 178-year-old Brij Raj Bhavan Palace of the former princely family of Kota in Rajasthan has a resident ghost, namely that of Major Burton, who, while serving as the British resident to Kota, was killed by Indian sepoys during the 1857 Mutiny. The sepoys killed Major Burton and his two sons in the central hall of the building. According to the tale, an elderly man with a cane in his hand, the ghost of Major Burton does not harm anybody. But during his night visit, if any of the guards are sleeping or dozing, Major Burton gives them a slap.
Paranormal Activities Story : As per the reports, so many people had been disappeared at the beach mysteriously and never come back. In the past, this place was used as “Hindu Burial Ground” and that’s why this place becomes haunted place of Surat.
3. Brijraj Bhawan Palace, Kota – Rajasthan
It is one of the haunted royal palaces of Rajasthan since. As per the news reports and beliefs, British major Mr. Burton was killed in the palace before Indian Independence. His son was also killed along with him. That’s why both of them have made this place as their home.
Paranormal Activities Story : Both ghosts are not harmful to anyone as per the reports. There are also reports that if security guards of the palace sleep during their duty then ghost just slap them. Still, it is risky to stay there due to ghost.
4. D’Souza Chawl Mahim, Mumbai – Maharashtra
D’Souza Chawl is the most haunted place in Mumbai as well as in Maharashtra state. As per the residents of this chawl, a woman has lost her life in the well when she was trying to get water from the said well.
Paranormal Activities Story : D’Souza Chawl residents have also reported that she is not harming anyone, she just walks from the area. Ghost of lady also disappeared when the sun rises and appeared at midnight.
5. Dow Hill Kurseong, Darjeeling – West Bengal
Dow Hill is the most haunted place in West Bengal. Dow Hill is one of the beautiful hills of the Darjeeling. There are some best boarding schools situated near the forest on the hill. It is believed that so many murders happened in the forest and that’s why their ghosts appear and disappear in the forest and nearby areas.

6. The Shaniwarwada Fort, Pune
This is one of the oldest forts in Maharashtra which is managed by the Government. It was built in 1746 and haunted by young Prince who was killed by his own relatives in the fort. As per local people information and their experiences, supernatural activity increases every full moon. Most of tourists visits this place during sunlight i.e. day. It is not advisable to enter in the fort during the night.
7. Vrindavan Society, Thane (Maharashtra)
It is believed that a man had committed suicide in the building no. 66 B of the society. Vrindavan Society is one of the most haunted place in Thane.

The security guard was doing his duty i.e. patrolling in the society, someone has slapped him so much hard while he was sitting on his chair. He was thinking that other guard who was sitting near to him slapped him, he immediately slapped the other guard. Both have reached that they haven’t slapped each other.
8. Writer’s Building, Kolkata
Kolkata was the major center of power during British rule in India. To accommodate junior writers and clerks, British Government built Writer’s Building as the official residence. It is located on the center of city i.e. BBD Square, Kolkata. It is currently used by the Government of West Bengal as the secretariat of the state.
Paranormal Activities Story : As per the story, Indian revolutionaries Binay, Dinesh and Badal has killed Captain Simpson who was working in British East India Company in the building. 9. Agrasen ki Baoli, Delhi
Agrasen ki Baoli is the historical step well located near Connaught Place on Hailey Road in Delhi. It is just walking distance from Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. This is protected monument by the Archaeological Survey of India.
