The camera of a smartphone is one of the most important hardware features. Given the competition in the midrange market, it's imperative for companies to improve on hardware specifications to make their devices look more attractive to the consumers.
We're looking at a few such devices today that give you decent camera performance for under Rs 30,000.
OnePlus One
Launched in mid-2014, the smartphone is easily one of the best in terms of pricing and the features available. While its hardware and software combination received critical acclaim, the camera on the device is the best in its price range. With the ability to take raw photos without requiring any additional software, the OnePlus One is high up in our list of the best camera phones you can get for under Rs 30,000. The 16GB OnePlus One can be yours for Rs 18,999 while the 64GB model costs Rs 21,999.
Huawei Honor 6 Plus
Launched in December last year, the Honor 6 Plus comes with a unique dual 8MP camera setup on the back. This arrangement helps in changing aperture for photos, thus providing excellent photos, both in broad daylight and at night. There's an 8MP camera on the front as well, which should provide decent self shot images. We found the phone to deliver quality images without breaking the levels of light, keeping it in tune with nature. The smartphone is selling for Rs 26,499 via online retailers in the country.
Xiaomi Mi 4
This is Xiaomi's 2014 flagship device and comes with a 13MP camera unit on the back accompanied by an 8MP camera on the front for selfies. It was touted as one of the best camera phones around when it was released in July last year. Considering its price tag of Rs 19,999, we can understand why. While it might lack the bells and whistles of the OnePlus One or the
Huawei Honor 6 Plus, it's certainly no slouch when it comes to taking good pictures.
Gionee Elife S7
This is a perfect all-round smartphone and takes the cake among camera phones under Rs 30,000 with its 13MP sensor. It takes impressive life-like images with its sensor and gives f lagships a run for their money. Also it is a good looking smartphone and takes the crown for being the slimmest dual-SIM smartphone around.
Microsoft Lumia 830
The list would be incomplete if we didn't mention this pocket-dynamite from Nokia. The Lumia 830 comes with an unique 10MP camera sensor with a 1/3.4-inch sensor size bundled with the company's proprietary PureView technology, making it one of the best camera phones around the Rs 20,000 segment. The retail pricing of the smartphone borders close to Rs 21,000, but you can probably get it for less with some research online.
